I went to do a photo shoot recently and while the mummy was feeding the baby I decided to start photographing Nicholas. We started talking about his birthday party and I had to quickly flip to video.

To capture this age and talking is so so precious, even his Mum couldn't believe that he just sat and talked and talked.
What a gorgeous little fella, love him, (and his family)

We just love photographing babies- especially newborns! This is Emmett who is only 3 weeks old.

Our photographer Sarah captured so many beautiful little newborn features we thought we would share this beautiful artistic shot of his back.  We love the lines, from his spine to mums arms cuddling him, Emmett’s belly rolls to his oh-so cute tailbone.

When Karen and Luke popped in to view their beautiful collection of family photos taken by our photographer Rachel, no-one knew (not even Karen I suspect) that she would be moved to tears!  Hannah was just 4 and a bit weeks old for her studio photo shoot yet Rachel captured the essence of Hannah’s character with a mix of waking and sleeping shots.  This is a really sweet image of Hannah enjoying some nicely curled up ‘tummy time’ with us and even giving us a cheeky smile for good measure!  So pleased that there is a stunning image box collection of 15 images coming to Hannah when she is all grown up… mum and dad selected a fantastic ...

What a beautiful shoot this was. Grandma Catherine wanted some photos of herself with her granddaughter Ella as she was moving away for a while with her parents.

Sarah had the lucky job of taking some Candid photos of them eating yummy home-made scones with jam and cream. She also got to sample them herself ...  well half a scone anyway! The neighbour’s pet dog sneakily ate the other half while Sarah continued photographing!

We think these shots are just so fun and show the relationship between Grandma and Ella!

We’ve had a lovely pet theme this week in the studio – one family brought their dog in for their shoot and today, it seems, I can expect to be photographing the family cat with the family!  Great, because I love cats!

Is your pet part of the family?  Why not incorporate them into your next family portrait shoot?  They do become part of the family, don’t they?  Do you have a dog, a cat or maybe a more exotic animal you would love to bring into your family photographs?  It’s only a little while to go now before we start shooting back in our client’s homes so don’t be shy about ...

I can only dream of what it might be like to wake with a full head of gorgeous curls like these!  It must be fantastic though, don’t you think?  When I was a little girl, my mum would curl my hair by wrapping handfuls of my long hair in what were known as ‘rags’ – does anyone else remember these?  They were just strips of material really but when strategically tied and wrapped around my hair at night, they would produce the most enviable head of curls by morning!  Years later when the ‘perm’ was all the rage, mum took me to the hairdresser for what felt like an entire day having my hair chemically treated, placed in rollers, then ...

Many years ago when I was about 19 and still full of energy and mischief I was meeting my dad after work for a coffee and catch up.

At the time I was working out at garden city shopping centre.  The decor at the time was to have bus stop type seats at regular intervals for weary folk to have a rest while shopping.  To make them attractive the seats were encased in elaborate planter boxes with large bushy plants that were like a mini jungle.

Whenever my dad would meet me he would sit in the same seat with his back to my place of work.  On this day I quickly glanced over and through the planter box bushes ...

My DH Shannon was jumping on the trampoline with 2 of our boys everything was going great until Dad fell through the trampoline, the sound of him hitting the ground could be heard inside the house, Tyler (son number 2) sat on the edge where Dad had gone through peering down at him and just laughed Rylee our eldest burst into tears because Daddy had broken the tramp, that week we bought a new one the kids told Dad he was not to jump on it they wanted to keep this one.
